Habitat
Polar bears live in the Arctic area: the U.S. (Alaska), Canada, Russia, Greenland, and Norway (Svalbard). The environment is usually quite chilly and icy, so polar bears have multiple thick layers of fur to protect against the cold. The arctic’s average temperature is -25 degrees* in the winter and -5 degrees* in the summer making one of the coldest places on earth.
